I was able to display the string using the code from your previous post Arial but not with Symbol. Running the code through the debugger it appears that this is an issue with the AWT Font object. It reports that only the characters \t, \n and \r are displayable. That is why the missing glyph (empty box) is displayed for all the other characters in the string. This will be the case for all the other characters supported by the font.
I am not sure why this is happening. It appears to be an AWT problem rather than a problem with Transform. I will try and figure out what is going on and let you know what I find. Note though that I am pretty busy with the new releases of Transform and Translate and I have vacation planned for August so I may not be able to give you an answer soon.
Regards,
Stuart
